Marketing Controller

Business-minded/oriented person with a background in retail and/or distribution. You will be responsible for assisting the Accounting and Marketing Teams with report creation, maintenance, and development of insights for the company and vendors by ensuring the integrity of the handling of the different trade expenses. You must possess advanced critical thinking and time management skills. Must be adaptable, and able to quickly learn new systems and processes. Leads the Chargeback & Commercial Agreement team.


  • Balance and close the month of promotional spending
  • Generate and invoice suppliers monthly
  • Follow-up with Brand Managers Account reconciliation
  • Produce the monthly financial monitoring report
  • Analyse & track the promotional spending for profitability
  • Analyse/reconcile accrued volume rebate and promotional liability and receivable GLs
  • Monitor the sales and marketing budget against revenue and expenses
  • Oversee Volume discounts
  • Contract Management
  • Creating programs/agreements in the system
  • Oversee agreements made for promotions
  • Analyse and reconcile accrued volume rebate and promotional liability and receivable GLs
  • Identify improvements, build processes & incorporate visibility on all promotional types
  • Respond to different demands from product managers
  • Support team with day-to-day procedures & process improvements
  • Responsible for analyzing and correcting transactional errors in the system
  • All other tasks related to the position


Bachelor's degree in business administration or commerce;


  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience (including 2 years in a similar position);
  • Accounting background (an asset);
  • Experience with customer discount agreements (an asset);
  • Experience in SAP and/or Vistex (an asset);
  • Bilingual (French and English) - written and spoken;
  • Very good knowledge of Microsoft software, mainly Excel;
