Post war
Imported Delicacies (the precursor to I-D Foods) reversed the post war movement of food parcels to Europe by importing European specialties to Canada i.e. Bahlsen Biscuits.
First success
Initial shipments of Maille Mustard to Canada. Maille now constitutes 20% of total mustard sales in Canada.
A new life
Philip Issenman purchased the company Imported Delicacies, originally owned by Henry Gamer.
Historical acquisition
Acquired the Henri Jonas Company which itself was established in 1870.
National expansion
Issenman then acquired the specialty food division of Rose & Laflamme, the R.H. Melville Company in Vancouver and Superior Foods in Winnipeg, providing I-D Foods with offices across the country.
A new name
Company's name changed to I-D FOODS CORPORATION
Eastern Canada Expansion
Creation of branches in Halifax, Ottawa, and Québec City
Birth of FNSM
Creation of a new brokerage division: First National Sales and Marketing
Québec warehouse expansion
$15 million investment to expand the Laval, Québec warehouse an additional 70,000 high cube square feet bringing the total warehouse space to 400,000 square feet across Canada.
Calgary warehouse expansion
A new 70,000 square feet warehouse was built in Calgary to meet the needs of the company's growing business in Western Canada.
